Hi, I’m Saga. I’ll be your game master!

My
Focus

Teaching & Learning

As a former educator, I place tremendous value on teaching even in play. Tabletop games are great vehicles for life skills, like collaboration, communication, and creative expression. I love helping newcomers find parts of themselves in the verbs of gaming, or sharing interesting history and context behind this amazing, unique, and storied hobby.

Freedom & Fantasy

As an author of sci-fi and fantasy, I bring a deep well of creative worldbuilding to your table. I love sharing and exploring new worlds with others, and working together to expand on a burgeoning idea. I want to help you take your cool ideas for stories, worlds, and characters, and grow them into something epic, unique, and forever yours.

Compassion & Respect

Tabletop gaming has often been viewed from the outside as insulated and gatekept, but the reality is that the gatekeepers can’t contain the vibrancy and openness that has always been part of the hobby. As a genderqueer person myself, I always have room at my table for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and I lead and guide the experience to make sure it’s safe and comfortable for all participants.

Personality & Fun

What’s fun for one person might not be for somebody else. Every table has its unique needs and desires, and I strive to meet them in a way that makes the game as fun as possible for all. We’ll maximize what you want to see, and minimize what you don’t: I can run silly, laugh-a-minute games full of shenanigans, or serious, focused games with complex and emotional theming—and everything in between.

WHO I AM

I’m a queer author, educator, and storyteller, serving the area in and around Topeka, Kansas.

I have been writing and GMing since I was young, obsessed from an early age with worlds of fantasy and sci-fi. I published my first novel in 2012 and have written over a dozen since then. I am always working on some new world or idea—usually more than one at a time!

I started working in education in 2015, where I discovered that my passion to share of myself creatively extended to teaching as well. I love helping young people, and I bring specialized training and experience to the table that centers the learner, with unique talents for handling conflict and helping new ideas flourish.

I moved to writing and running games full-time in 2023, where I sought to combine my professional skills, writing background, and personal hobby all into one. I still serve young people by volunteering at the Topeka/Shawnee County Public Library, having helped launch its wonderful teen D&D program.
